Adding Goals

Updated this week

πŸ“‹ Introduction

As an organizer, you have the same permissions as a referee and can enter match results. The process consists of 4 stages:

  1. Tournament Start (One-time confirmation)

  2. Match Start

  3. Entering the Result

  4. Closing the Match

🏁 Stage 1: Tournament Start (First Match)

When starting the very first match, the system will ask you to confirm that the tournament is officially beginning. This changes the status to "In Progress."

  1. Enter the tournament and go to the "Schedule" tab.

  2. Click "+" for both teams to set the initial score to 0:0.

  3. Confirm Start: A message will appear: "Do you confirm the start of the tournament?" Click "Yes."

Note: This is only required once per tournament.

⚽ Stage 2: Starting the Match

Every match that begins should be set to a 0:0 score. This serves as a signal to the system, parents, and coaches that the game is currently taking place. By doing this, the match is assigned the "In Progress" status and becomes visible as an active event.

What happens next:

  • The match status changes to "In Progress."

  • The match is highlighted with a blue border (visible to parents and coaches).

  • You can now begin adding goals and match events.

🎯 Stage 3: Entering Results

You have two ways to record scores: quickly setting the result manually (without assigning scorers) or adding goals one by one with full details (who scored, penalties, own goals, etc.). The choice depends on your needs and the specific situation.

Option 1: Set result manually

When to use it:

  • When you want to quickly set the final score.

  • When you do not need to assign goal scorers.

How to do it:

  1. Open the manual result option:

    • Go to the schedule.

    • Find the match you are interested in and select "Set result manually."

  2. Enter the score:

    • Enter the number of goals for Team 1 (Home).

    • Enter the number of goals for Team 2 (Away).

    • Example: 3 : 2

  3. Save the result:

    • Click "Save."

    • If everything is correct, click "Finish Match" – this will trigger the table recalculations.

βœ… Result saved!

⚠️ Limitations: When setting the result manually, you do not have the option to select additional features such as:

  • Assigning scorers (player numbers).

  • Marking an own goal.

  • Marking a penalty kick.

  • Adding a goal without selecting a specific player.

Option 2: Result via the "+" button (Single Goal Entry)

When to use it:

  • When you want to assign goal scorers.

  • When you want to mark the type of goal (own goal, penalty).

  • When you are entering the score in real-time during the match (live results).

How to do it:

  1. Add a goal:

    • In the match you are recording, click the "+" button next to the team that scored.

    • The score will increase by 1 (e.g., from 0:0 to 1:0).

  2. Select goal options:

    • After clicking "+", a special screen will appear with several options to choose from.

Selection Options:

1. Select a player from the dropdown list

  • Step A: Open the list

    • Click on the "Player" field (dropdown menu).

    • A list of all players called up to the squad for that team will appear.

  • Step B: Choose the player

    • Scroll through the list and find the goal scorer.

    • Click on the player's name.

    • The player will be selected.

πŸ’‘ Tip: The list only contains players who were called up for the match. If a player is missing from the list, it means they were not assigned to the squad by the coach.

2. Enter player number manually

  • Click on the "Player number" field.

  • Type in the number (e.g., 10).

  • Important: This option is available if you do not select a player from the dropdown list.

3. Penalty kick

  • Click the "PENALTY KICK" button.

  • The button will change color/state to active.

  • βœ… The goal will be marked as scored from a penalty.

4. Own goal

  • Click the "OWN GOAL" button.

  • The button will change color/state to active.

  • βœ… The goal will be marked as an own goal.

  • What this means:

    • The goal was scored by a player from the opposing team.

    • The point will be awarded to the attacking team.

    • In the statistics, the goal will be visible as an "own goal."

5. Goal without selecting a player

When to use it:

  • When you don't know who scored the goal.

  • When the player is not in the roster.

  • When you want to provide live scores but are not tracking the top scorer rankings.

Marking a goal without a player:

  • Click the "GOAL WITHOUT PLAYER SELECTION" button.

  • βœ… The goal will be added without an assigned scorer.

What happens next:

  • The match score increases by 1.

  • The goal is not assigned to any specific player.

  • The goal will not appear in the top scorer rankings.

πŸ† Walkover – Automatic Result Assignment

A Walkover occurs when a match cannot take place (e.g., a team fails to show up or has too few players). Instead of entering scores goal by goal, you can instantly award a 3:0 result to the winning team. The system will automatically assign the points without requiring specific goal scorer details.

How to award a walkover?

  • Step W.1: Open the walkover option

    1. Go to the schedule and select the specific match.

    2. Find the "Walkover" option.

  • Step W.2: Select the losing team

    1. The system will ask: "Which team lost the match?"

    2. Select the team that failed to appear or forfeited the match.

  • Step W.3: Confirm the walkover

    • Click "Confirm."

    • βœ… The score is automatically set to 3:0.

What happens next:

  • Match Score: Set to 3:0 in favor of the winning team.

  • Scorers: No players are assigned to the goals (recorded as "goals without player selection").

  • Match Conclusion: The match is automatically finished.

  • Table Update: The standings are recalculated immediately.

🏁 Stage 4: Finishing the Match

After entering all the goals, you must officially finish the match so that the system can recalculate the tournament table and add the scorers to the rankings. Without this step, the result remains "suspended" – it will be visible, but it won't affect the standings. This is the most important step after every game!

To ensure the tables are updated, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Schedule: Open the "Schedule" (Terminarz) tab.

  2. Find the Finish Button: Once all goals are entered, look for the "Finish Match" or "Finish Meeting" button.

  3. Click to Finish: Click "Finish Match" or "Finish Meeting."

Confirm the Conclusion:

  1. A confirmation message will appear.

  2. Review the final score and the list of scorers.

  3. Click "Confirm" or "Finish."

  4. βœ… Match Finished!

What happens after finishing:

  • Tournament Standings: The table is automatically recalculated.

  • Top Scorers: Goal scorers are added to the official rankings.

  • Visual Status: The blue border around the match disappears.

⚠️ Very Important: Without clicking "Finish Match", the table WILL NOT be updated! Always remember to officially close every match.

✏️ Editing a Match

What this stage is about: Mistakes happen – you might credit the wrong scorer, enter an incorrect score, or forget to mark a goal as an own goal. Fortunately, every match can be edited both while it is in progress and after it has finished. The system allows for full data correction, and the standings will be automatically recalculated once changes are saved.

Every match can be edited – both during and after the game.

Editing a match in progress:

  • Click on the match.

  • Add or remove goals as needed.

  • Edit scorers or goal details.

  • Finish the match when everything is correct.

Editing a match after it has finished:

  • Click on the finished match.

  • Locate the "Edit result" option or the edit icon (pencil icon).

  • Change the score or the scorers.

  • Save your changes.

  • Finish the match again to trigger the final recalculation of the tables.
