Replacing Confirmed Teams with Database Teams

This functionality allows for instant participant list corrections without the need to delete and re-add tournament slots. You can now efficiently react to lineup changes, even if the competition has already started.

📅 When can you perform a swap?

The feature is available in the Teams tab for tournaments with the following statuses:

  • Open

  • Pending

  • Confirmed

  • In Progress

🛠 Available Swap Variants

The table below explains the logic behind the new feature:

Swap Type

Description

Real → Real

Replacing a real team (confirmed in the tournament) with another real team selected directly from the database.

Real → Temporary

Replacing a confirmed real team with a temporary team (e.g., in case of a sudden withdrawal without an immediate replacement).

Temporary → Real

Replacing a slot occupied by a temporary team with a specific real team from the database.

Temporary → Temporary

The ability to swap one temporary team for another remains available.

📖 How to perform a team swap?

The process is intuitive and takes place directly within the team management view. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the "Teams" tab

  2. Select the team to replace

Find the team you wish to swap on the list.

  3. Click the Swap Icon

Click the pencil icon located on the right side of the row.

  4. Choose the new team type

A modal window titled "Swap team in tournament" will appear. You have two tabs to choose from:

    • Real Teams: Search for a real team from the database (you can use the search bar or filter by birth year/age group).

    • Temporary Teams: Select a previously created "technical" team or add a new one.

  5. Confirm your choice

Once you have selected the new team, click the "Replace team" button in the bottom right corner of the window.

  6. Done!

The system will process the change, and the new team will immediately appear in place of the previous one, maintaining its status in the tournament.

💡 Key things to remember

  • Tournament Continuity

Swapping a team while the status is "In Progress" allows you to continue the tournament without disrupting the bracket or the match schedule.

  • Global Database

When swapping to a real team, the system pulls data from the current list of teams registered in the global database.

  • Status Restrictions

If a tournament is "Finished" or "Cancelled," this method of editing participants will no longer be available.
