📍 Where do I set the pitch name?
✅ In the "Edit Match" window – open it using the pencil icon ✏️ on the match tile in the tournament schedule.
What will you find in the edit window?
Select date – the date the match is played.
Day of the week – this field fills in automatically based on the date (you don't edit it manually).
Select time – the kick-off time.
Home and Away – the teams assigned to the match.
Pitch – the pitch number (e.g. Pitch 1, Pitch 2).
Pitch name – your own descriptive name (e.g. "Natural Pitch", "Alpha").
⚙️ How do I name a pitch? (step by step)
Step 1: Open the match for editing
On the match tile, click the pencil icon ✏️ in the top right corner.
The "Edit Match" window will open.
Step 2: Check the pitch number
In the Pitch field, make sure the correct number is selected (e.g. Pitch 1).
It's the pitch number that determines which matches the name will be applied to.
Step 3: Enter the pitch name
In the Pitch name field, enter your own name, e.g. "Alpha" or "Natural Pitch".
Step 4: Save
Click the "SAVE" button.
If you want to discard your changes, click "CANCEL".
🔁 How does automatic name assignment work?
You enter the pitch name only once. The system will propagate it to the remaining matches for you.
How it works:
Once saved, the name is automatically applied to all matches played on the pitch with the same number.
The name applies across both tournament phases – you don't need to enter it again after moving to the next phase.
Example:
In the 1st match of the tournament, played on Pitch 1, you enter the name "Natural Pitch". From that moment on, all other matches played on Pitch 1 – both in the group phase and in the following phase – will also carry the name "Natural Pitch". You don't need to edit them one by one.
👁️ Where will you see the pitch name?
The name is displayed on the match tile, on the right-hand side – next to the edit ✏️ and bin 🗑️ icons.
Matches on a pitch that hasn't been given its own name yet will show the default number (e.g. "Pitch 2").
This way you can see at a glance where each match is being played, all on one screen.
❌ What to keep in mind
The name does not carry over to other pitch numbers – Pitch 1 and Pitch 2 have separate names.
Changing the pitch number in a match means that the match "takes over" the name assigned to the new number.
Changing the name in one match updates it in all matches on that pitch – including those that have already been played.
⚠️ Important information
🏟️ Set the names before publishing the schedule
Giving pitches clear names (e.g. "Alpha", "Astroturf", "Natural Pitch") makes organising the tournament genuinely easier – coaches, referees and parents know straight away where to go, without having to ask about pitch numbers. It's worth setting the names before publishing the schedule, so that all participants immediately see the full set of information.
💻 Web version only
Setting and changing the pitch name is available only in the browser (web) version. You can't edit this field from the mobile app – if you want to set or correct a pitch name, log in on a computer.
